JAMES McCORD is a native of New Bedford, Penn., where he was born in 1841, 
coming to Wisconsin in 1857. He spent five years in Milwaukee, and came to La 
Crosse in 1864, where he entered his present business. He was married in 1866, 
to Miss Cogswell, daughter of Horatio Cogswell, of Grafton, Mass., and also in 
1879, to Miss Roosevelt, daughter of W. A. Roosevelt, of La Crosse.
