Mr. Michel was married in Milwaukee in 1858, to Eva Kleber; came to La Crosse same time as his father, and has been in his present business since 1871; he has had twelve children, ten of whom are living, to wit, Jacob, Peter, Mary, Anton, Frank, Charlie, Lizzie, John, Nick and Annie; his oldest daughter, Lena, died Nov. 11, 1880, in her 23d year, and his youngest child, Mena, died in September, 1879, at the age of 9 months.
