MORGAN, miller at Hamilton Mills, West Salem, was born in Baden, Germany, in 1834. He learned his trade - that of a miller and millwright - in Germany. He emigrated to Lancaster Co., Penn., in 1854; came to Wisconsin in the spring of 1868, and settled at Bangor; afterward worked for a time in the mills in Lewis Valley; then bought a farm and engaged in farming for five years; sold his farm and came to Salem, and assumed his present position, May, 1878. He was married in Pennsylvania, to Mary E. Schriner, born in Pennsylvania; has six children - four sons and two daughters. The oldest son, George, born in Pennsylvania in 1859, has learned his father's trade, and is engaged with him at Hamilton Mills.
