MORRISON, engineer on the C., M. & St. P. R. R.; has been in the employ of this company since 1866, and has been running an engine since 1871; he was born in Woodsville, Grafton Co., N. H., in 1844. Dec. 12, 1861, he enlisted in the 8th Vt. V. I., Co. D; re-enlisted as a veteran in the spring of 1864; he served under Gen. Butler till Gen. Banks took command in that department, then remained with him till the summer of 1864, when he was transferred to the Army of the Potomac, and served under Sheridan till the close of the war. He was married in October, 1867, in Beaver Dam, Wis., to Miss Mary Swarthout, and has resided in La Crosse since 1870; has one child - Luella Isabella. His father, Isaac T.
