His father was a wagon-maker. He worked with his father in the shop, and June 1, 1880, engaged in the present business. Elected Justice of the Peace in 1877; owns town property; appointed Postmaster, 1881. His father, John, was born Nov. 20, 1822; came to Wisconsin, 1856; owns 80 acres of land.
