R. J. POWELL, West Salem. Mr. Powell was born in Oneida Co., N. Y., in 1831; 
he came to Racine Co., Wis., in 1858; thence to McGregor, and to La Crosse in 
May of that year. He moved to Bangor, where he lived about five years. Since 
that time has resided in Salem. Mr. Powell is a carpenter and builder by 
trade, but has been engaged in other branches of business. His wife was Laura 
Richards, of La Crosse. They have three children - Delia, John and Horace.
