O. North La Crosse; was born in Scotland in 1832; in 1850, he was married to Jane Gray, born in Scotland Jan. 12, 1829, and, in 1853, emigrated to the United States, and stopped at New Albany, Ind., about twenty months; he then went to Louisville, Ky., and worked at his trade as machinist for eleven years, after which he came to La Crosse Co. and rented a farm for three years. He then, in 1868, purchased his present farm of 160 acres, the same being land that had never been broke, and has since followed farming. Mr. R. has been Chairman of the town of Campbell two terms, and is a Republican in politics. The children living are James, Henry T., Lizzie, Willie, Thomas and Mary.
