His father, Joseph Tausche, came to the United States in 1855; settled in the town of Greenfield, La Crosse Co., and resided there till his death in 1866. Mr. T. learned his trade in La Crosse with Weber Brothers, commencing at the age of 14, and has been in the business most of the time since, except when in school. He had charge of Weber's shop after being in the business about two years. He also had charge of the shop of Scharpf & Ring from 1877 to March 23, 1881, when he bought out Mr. Ring's interest.
