FRED TILLMAN, furniture dealer on Main and Second streets; was born in Prussia 
in 1837, and came to this country in 1856, stopping three years in Milwaukee. 
He came to La Crosse in 1859, and, in company with his brother William, opened 
the furniture house which they still continue. He was married in 1860, and has 
seven children.
