L. WACHENHEIMER, real estate and insurance agent; was born in Baden, Germany, 
March 16, 1822; came to America in 1856, and lived in Milwaukee two years; was 
in the liquor business, as manager for Mahler & Wend; came to La Crosse in 
1858, and has resided there since. He was in the liquor business in La Crosse 
for three years; then clerk in the post office eight years. He was Register of 
Deeds five terms in succession - from 1870 to 1880, and always elected by 
large majorities. He has been in the real estate business since January, 1880, 
and added insurance in January, 1881.
