Mr. Wehle learned his trade in Switzerland, serving four years; came to the United States in the fall of 1870; lived in Brooklyn, N. Y., one year, then three and a half years in Chicago, Ill.; went from there to St. Paul, Minn., and came to La Crosse in April, 1876. He was married in Chicago, in 1872, to Miss Amelia Heherlein, and has five children - Edward, Bertha, Maggie, Mary and Victoria. He was three years in the army, in Europe, in 1867, 1868, and 1869.
