Harnisch, 65, of 352 6th Avenue. N. Onalaska, World War I veteran, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1959, at the Tomah Veterans' Hospital in Tomah, Wisconsin, after a long illness. He was born March 11, 1894 to William Howard (Flora Stenberg) Harnisch and spent most of his life in Onalaska. His survivors include his wife Laura (West) Harnisch; three daughters, Mrs. Merlin (Laura) Westlie of Holmen and Mrs. Robert (Edna) Guenther and Mrs. George (Estella) Tabbert of Onalaska; two sons, Le Roy (Margaret Jane Schleifer) Harnisch of Onalaska and Harold (Marilyn Diekregers) of LaCrescent; and one sister, Blanche Harnisch of La Crosse. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Fossum Funeral Home, Onalaska, by the Rev. Richard Truitt. Burial will be in the Onalaska Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening.
