Here she grew to womanhood and on October 6, 1855, married Elisha B. REDFIELD. Subsequently her home had been at La Crosse and coming to this city last fall, she remained at home with her daughter, Mrs. Harry H. SIMPSON. She had been in poor health for some time and very suddenly breathed her last, Tuesday, the 19th inst. She leaves four children, Mr. Homer REDFIELD of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Clara MOTT and Mrs. Jessie BLANCHARD of La Crosse, and Mrs. Nellie SIMPSON of this city. The funeral took place this afternoon at the home of H. H. SIMPSON...conducted by Rev. E. C. Dixon. The remains were then taken to the Caledonia Street Methodist Church at La Crosse where Rev. Hurd conducted a second service, after which the remains were buried at Oak Grove cemetery. A. E. SMITH had charge fo the funeral in this city and was assisted at La Crosse by B. A. SIGGINS. The deceased was a consistent member of the Methodist church and was always held in high esteem by all who knew her. She was a patient sufferer and perfectly reconciled to depart to the better life whenever her call should come. ---La Crosse County Record, Onalaska, Wis., March 12, 1896 For several years Mrs. REDFIELD resided in Friendship, and it was at this place that, in 1864, Elisha B. REDFIELD enlisted in Co. K, 38th Wisconsin Regt., of which he became a sargeant.
