Articles of organization of The Blanchardville Driving Park Association were signed and notarized by Howard D. Thomas, September 16, 1893. Officers were F. M. Knorr, president; Pat Hardyman, vice-president; J. P. Cullen, secretary; Peter Olson, treasurer; A. Blanchard, N. E. Rogers, Thomas Gavigan and James Blanchard, directors. The purpose of forming a corporation was to build a race track of one-half mile in length for the purpose of driving, racing and training horses and such things as said corporation may decide. Article III stated: "The capital stock of said corporation shall be five hundred dollars ($500) and the same shall consist of eighteen shares, each of which said shares shall be of the face or par value of twenty-five dollars."
