S. Hawley, aged 75 years. Mr. Hawley has been a prominent and highly respected citizen of this place for twenty-five years. Previous to this his home was at Argyle. He was a pensioner of the famous Black Hawk war, where his father was killed by the Indians. Many times has he interested our citizens at public gatherings by relating the thrilling adventures of those times. He has resided in a handsome residence on Main Street, where he leaves his third wife a widow. The remains are to be taken to Argyle Friday where the funeral and interment will take place on Sunday. May 19, 1893, The Enterprise, p. 1, col. 5, Evansville, Wisconsin Mr. Henry Hawley came in on the evening train Thursday, from Colorado, having heard that his father was very low, but now knowing of his death until arriving here.
