Photo of Levi Merl Starks taken about 1890.  Levi was born 1817 in Chazy, 
Clinton County, NY and was one of 14 children. He married Saphrona Merrihew 
1837 in Chazy and they moved to Wisconsin prior to 1852 settleing in Weyauwega, 
Waupaca County. They had 5 children; Edric C., Roxana H., Alzada J., William W. 
and Chester O. Starks. They moved to Polar, Langlade County prior to 1880. 
Saphrona died in 1888 and Levi moved to Beverly, Kansas where he married Nancy 
Ruggles in 1890. Levi died in Kansas in 1903.
