Obituary: Manitowoc County, Wisconsin: Eva KALTENBRUNN ************************************************************************ Submitted by Jean Schwon, April 2008 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ This obituary can be found in the Tri-County Record, Kiel, Wisconsin. Issue - Thursday, July 28, 1927 - Page 4, Column 1. Mrs. Eva Kaltenbrunn, nee Geigel, widow of the late Victor Kaltenbrunn, died Thursday noon at the age of 89 years, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. Schwoerer. She was born in Baden, Germany, and at the age of 21 years, came with her sister to America. In 1870 she was united in marriage to Mr. Kaltenbrunn, a widower with five children. They resided on a farm one mile north of St. Nazianz, where the deceased lived with her son, Ambrose, until about three weeks ago, when she became ill. Her daughter, Mrs. Anton Schwoerer then took her to her home, where she died peacefully. Her death was rather sudden, as when the daughter brought the tray with her noon day meal to her, she found her mother dead. The survivors are the son, Ambrose, two daughters, Mrs. A. Schwoerer and Mrs. Mutzbauer of Milwaukee, and the wife and children of her late son, Anton Kaltenbrunn. Funeral services were held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Gregory's church, officiated by Rev. F. Holzknecht. Burial will be in the adjacent cemetery. Correction Postnote: My research of the church and civil records indicate that they were married in 1869, not 1870 as mentioned in this obituary. Mrs. Mutzbauer was Eva's step-daughter. A step-son, Ludwig Kaltenbrunn preceded her in death in 1924.
