HILLMAN Mrs. Isabella (Ehrhardt) Hillman, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Ehrhardt, was born July 28th, 1885 at Knowles, Dodge county, Wisconsin. In the days of her youth, the family changed their residence to Marshfield, Wisconsin where they lived over a period of several years. She acquired her public education and introduction to the church during her earlier years at Knowles. After reaching Marshfield she engaged quite extensively in the teaching of music. Through the influences of a fine Christian home, she united at the early age with the Evangelical church of which she remained a life-long, and most dependable member. On August 15th, 1906, she was united in marriage with the Rev. Otto Hillman, minister of the Evangelical church in Wisconsin, with whom she dedicated her best abilities for 31 1/2 years, in the work of the Christian Ministry in the Wisconsin Conference. Mr. and Mrs. Hillman, during this course of time served the following fields in the Wisconsin Conference; Mazomanie, Marshfield, Eau Claire, Monona, (Iowa), Norwalk, and Reedsville. On December 11th 1937, there occurred very suddenly, the death of the Rev. Mr. Hillman, while in the active service of his profession at Reedsville. After supervising the work of the church at Reedsville until the time of the Annual Conference in 1938, Mrs. Hillman moved to the city of Madison, where whe has since made her home with her sister, Olive of that city. Over the past winter season she has been with her son Charles at Hiinkkley, Ill., and spending time with her sister, Mrs. Clarence Baumeister of Lombard, Ill. Her departure came most suddenly and unexpectedly at Billings Memorial Hospital of Chicago, on Wednesday, April 22, 1942, where she had entered only a few days before for observation and treatment. Her decease occurred at approximaately 9:30 in the morning, but a few minutes after she had been in conversation with the attending nurse. the parents, with one sister, Hilda, Mrs. E.H. Schramm, have preceded the deceased in death some time ago. Surviving her departure today are two sons and three grandchildren; Earle E., with his wife and children, Russel and Maxine of Calmar, Iowa; and Charles A., and wife, with infant daughter Sandra Jean of Hinckley, Ill. There are six surviving sisters as follows: Esther, Mrs. Herbert Schroeder of Glendale, Arizona; Olive of Madison; Alice, Mrs. Geo. Lindow of Hillsboro, Oregon; Adelaide, Mrs. Arthur Kohlhepp of Eau Claire; Eunice of Eau Claire; and Rhena, Mrs. Clarence Baumeister, of Lombard, Ill. Her life, richly and abundantly lived, has come to its earhly close. She was reared in a Christian home with a large and congenial family. She spent 31 1/2 years of happy life with her companion in the creative constructive redemptive work of the Christian Minister in Wisconsin. She realized the inspiration of seeing her two sons grow into sturdy Christian manhood and in turn established in their own congenial homes; in the six fields of the Conference served, she has made a host of lasting friendships, which treasured possession will remain and abide always. When the Eternal summons came to Mrs. Hillman on Wednesday morning, April 22nd, knowing the good life that she lived, we are certain that there was included in that call of her Master these most welcome and rewarding words, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of thy Lord."
