Deceased was born in Cologne, Germany, Dec. 31st, 1836; came to America in 1861, and resided in Dodge county, this state, for twenty years, working at his trade, that of miller, in Beaver Dam, Mayville and Horicon. He came to Colby in 1881, and settled on the farm, where he died, three miles east of the city. He was married at Columbus, to Maranda M. Thompson. He is survived by his wife and seven children. The sons and daughters are: Mrs. Mary Brennan of Okley, Minn., Alfred of Spearfish, S. Dak., Emil at home, Mrs. Hattie Parr of Fifield, Frank of Corchester, Mrs. Coetie Buettner of Schofield, and Corvin of Wausau, all of whom, except Alfred, were here to attend the funeral. Mr. Fasbender was held in high regard by his neighbors and friends, and held many offices in trust in his town. He was town clerk eight years, treasurer one year, and secretary of the Hull Town Mutual Fire Insurance Co., for six years. The funeral was held from the M. E. church in this city, Wednesday afternoon, the past Rev. R. Prescott, officiating, and was largely attended by sorrowing relatives and sympathizing friends.
