Ketchum Recorded September 2, 1997 by L.L. Ketchum Row/No. Name Dates Inscription/Notes N/A Frank R. Norton died August 2, 1857 "Son of Joel and Mary Norton"; "2 years, 4 months, 16 days" This burial place is approximately 30 feet off the east shoulder of CTH CH; an area resident continues to keep it mowed and places artifical flowers at the stone. For many years mystery surrounded the grave and the little body it contained. One story was that the child was Indian, another was that he was a child of a passing immigrant who had died enroute to a new home. Then, in the 1980's, a local historian received information regarding the identity of the child from the great-great-great-nephew of Joel Norton. The Norton family were not passing immigrants, but were active members of the local community and, in fact, at one time owned the land on which the grave is situated.
