Aug. 24th - - - - - - - (GERM) On Wednesday, Aug. 24th, occurred the death of GOTTLIEB BELTER, at the residence of his son, HERMAN, at Coloma Station, after a short illness. Deceased was born in Germany, Nov. 27, 1814, and was 83 years of age at the time of his death. He came to this country in 1852 and settled in Sauk County, near Baraboo, where he resided for two years after which he moved to Crystal Lake, Marquette Co., and resided there until 1892, when he broke up housekeeping and went to live with his children. MR. BELER was a highly respected citizen in the county in which he resided; he was also one of its earliest settlers. The immediate relatives left to mourn his loss are four children, two sons and two daughters, who reside as follows: WM. BELER, Wautoma; HERMAN BELTER, Coloma Station; MRS. HERMAN KAATZ, Deerfield; MRS. GUST GEHERKE, Crystal Lake. The funeral occurred on Friday with interment in the town of Newton, beside the remains of his wife, who was laid at rest several years ago.
