LOUISE BRUSTMAN Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Brustman were conducted Tuesday, August 18th, 1959 at 2 p.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Montello, with the Rev. W.J. Oelhafen officiating. The body lay in state from noon until 2 p.m. in the church, and burial was made in the City Cemetery with the Hardell Funeral Director in charge. Pallbearers were: Walter Petrick, Perry Black, George Duesterheft, Edward Sommerfeldt, Ervin Jaster, and Kenneth Kendall. Mrs. Louise Ida Brustman, the daughter of August Unke and Wilhelmine nee Mielke, was born March 28, 1874 in Germany. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Germany. In December, 1892, she came to America and settled in Chester, Minn. From there she went to St. Paul where she met her husband and was united in marriage in December 1894 to William Brustman. In 1900 they moved to Montello, and made their home on the farm now known as the Ken Kendall farm. Eight sons and three daughters were born to this union. Mr. Brustman died in 1937. Mrs. Brustman passed away at Divine Savior Hospital Sunday, August 16, 1959 at the age of 85 years. Her death was due to pneumonia. She was a faithful member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church of Montello. Those who mourn her departure are her children: Mrs. Alice Farrell, Chicago; Paul of Sacramento, CA; Fred of Ripon; Minnie (Mrs. Jack Anderson) Skokie, Ill; Edward, St. Paul, Minn.; and Clarence, Fond du Lac; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
