The deceased was born October 1825, in Raduuski, Province Posen, Germany. He grew up to manhood in his native country. Through Holy Baptism and later through the rite of Confirmation, he became a member of the Lutheran Church, of which he remained a true member until his death. In his native country he was united in marriage with Elizabeth Rux; this union was blessed by the birth of two children. In 1872 the deceased came to this country, and resided until the death of his wife, on a farm in the vicinity of Princeton. Since the death of his wife he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Gust Zarbuck in the town of Packwaukee, where he breathed his last, last Friday morning at the advanced age of 97 years and 5 months. His two children, Mrs. Gust Zarbuck, of the town of Packwaukee, and Gust Jahnke, of Spokane, Washington, also one step-son, one step-daughter, nine grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren survive to mourn his death. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Rev. William J. Hartwig officiating. Interment was made in the local cemetery
