Obituary: Marquette County, Wisconsin: Carl LIESKE ************************************************************************ Submitted by Joan Benner, April 2008 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ From the Central Union [ Westfield, Marquette County, Wisc.], Thursday April 15, 1926, Page 1 Carl Ludwig Lieske, an old resident of Marquette County, Wisconsin, passed away at the home of his son - in - law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wandry near Lawrence, April 6, 1926, at the age of 80 years, 6 months and 21 days. He was born in the Province of Posen, Germany, September 16, 1845. In 1868 he was married to Mrs. Caroline Lall. To this union five children were born, of whom two preceded him in death. In 1885, he, with his family, came to America and located in Marquette County, Wisconsin, where he has lived at various places ever since. He had been of fairly good health up to about three weeks previous to his death when physicians were called and diagnosed his ailments as very serious...in his sickness he was reconciled to the will of God and was ready to answer the summons of his Saviour in death. He leaves to mourn his departure, his aged widow, two sons, Robert of the town of Westfield and Fred of the town of Springfield, and one daughter, Mrs. Charles Wandry of the town of Westfield, one step-son, Frank Lall of the state of Washington, sixteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild besides other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held April 9th, from the late home and the Evangelical church at Lawrence, conducted by Rev. Geo. H. Scheible. Interment was made in the Lawrence cemetery.
