Obituary: Marquette County, Wisconsin: Mary MORRIS ************************************************************************ Submitted by Joan Benner, April 2008 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ From the Central Union [ Westfield, Marquette County, Wisc.], Thursday March 4, 1926, Page 1 Mary Valentine McGee was born June 29, 1870, in the Town of Buffalo, and died Feb. 27, 1926 at her home in Packwaukee, thus reaching the age of 55 years, 4 months and 29 days. She was married July 3, 1889 to Wm. Morris, of South Packwaukee and for a number of years they resided on the Morris farm. In 1914 they moved to Adams, Wisconsin, where they lived two years and from there they moved to the village of Packwaukee where they have resided ever since. Four children were born to this union: Henry N. of Packwaukee; Mrs. Ada Liske, of Adams Wis.; Mrs. Rosa Brancel of Briggsville, Wis.; and Josephine Lichtenberg of Adams, Wis. The family and friends of Mrs. Morris were very much shocked and grieved over her very sudden and untimely death as she was about her usual household duties when she was stricken with a stroke of apoplexy Friday about noon, of which she never revived and passed away at 3:40 a.m. Saturday morning. Mrs. Morris was of a gentle, loving disposition, a loving wife and mother, a kind neighbor and a great lover of her home, and will be greatly missed. She united with the Presbyterian church April 7, 1912, on profession of faith and always she was not always able to attend church her faith in the Heavenly Father has never weakened. She leaves to mourn her loss a devoted husband, one son and three daughters, her mother, one sister, one brother and five grandchildren, numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Her father and youngest sister preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Monday, March 1, Rev. Adams of Bufalo, officiating. Interment was in the Under Hill cemetery.
