Mrs. Eldridge NICKERSON died Thursday morning at the family home after a short illness with pneumonia. Up to that time she had always enjoyed good health. Caroline COOPER was born July __ 1844 (date cut off), at Mallardtown, Canada. When two years old the family moved to Westfield, this county, where she received a common school education. At the age of sixteen years she became the wife of John HAMILTON. To this union seven children were born: James, William and John of Oxford, Reuben and Thomas of the town of Oxford, Robert and Mrs. __ary HODGE of Nekoosa (name cut off). The couple lived on a farm in the town of Oxford until his death in 1888. Twenty-seven years ago she was united in marriage with Mr. NICKERSON, and had since made her home in the village. Early in life the decedent became active in church work, and for many years she had been unusually energetic in the local Methodist church and aid society. She was a woman with a most pleasing personality, genial and homelike in manner, and always a friend. Her demise cast a shadow over the village Thursday. The widower and children have the sympathy of the community. The funeral was held Saturday morning at the Methodist church, Rev. Jennings officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery
