While a mere child her parents removed to London, and a little later to Birmingham, England, where she helped care for her parents in their declining years. In 1866 she embarked for Racine, Wis., where she was united in marriage to James SUMMERTON, an old school mate, Oct. 30, 1866. They lived in Racine for some time. The remainder of he rlife was spent mostly in and around Oxford. For the past 24 years she has been a faithful member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She fell asleep in Jesus Nov. 15, 1916 at the age of 75 years. Besides a great realm of friends and 18 grandchildren she leaves her widower, one sister in England, six sons and two daughters: William, Frank, John and Milford of Oxford, George of Tanneyville, Missouri, and Charles of Brownstone, Illinois, Mrs. J. D. GRANT of Oxford, Mrs. H. JANKE of Westfield, and W. E. BLANDEN of Chicago, who was reared in their home...She sleeps a little while, till the resurrection when God shall claim his own. Funeral services were conducted Saturday at the local church by Elder PETERSON, and burial was in the Oxford cemetery.
