Enlistment Information
Army serial number which is presently posted on this site is incorrect. Your records
show:
a serial # of 36292826 should be corrected to show 35292826.

Hello my name is Colleen Baker-Schmechel. I am the daughter of Harold E. Schmechel
of Milwaukee WI who enlisted on Dec. 29, 1942. He is listed in your records as
having the army serial of #36292826. I have checked his dog tags which show a serial
# of 35292826.
