Further information on the Monroe County Local History Room can be found at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~wimonroe/MCLHMaRR/ NOTE: These surnames have been read from the stones. If your surname is not here, it does not automatically mean they are NOT buried here, only that there is no headstone. LOCATION: SE corner of NE1/4 of SE1/4 of section 35 township of Leon (Cannon Valley) GPS N43° 48.997’ W90° 48.674’ This was a cemetery that, according to local folklore, existed in Cannon Valley but present day residents were unable to pinpoint the location. Ralph and Janet Hendersin researched land records and were able to place the burials in a general location. After searching this heavily wooded general location Ralph was able to locate the three existing graves. Ralph has since cast gravestones of concrete, Brad Strom of Strom Monument, Sparta, has donated the engraving and subsequently Ralph has set the stones in the cemetery. Queries on several forums in Wisconsin and Minnesota failed to surface any relatives and death records during the 1800’s are practically nonexistant, consequently we have no dates of death.
