Death of John N WAGNER Another of the elder residents of the city has joined the silent majority. John N WAGNER, whose residence in Sparta dates from 1850, died Saturday morning, Nov 17, at 3 o'clock, from a paralytic stroke which came upon him the day previous. Mr WAGNER was born in Wettenburg, Germany, May 10, 1828. He came to this country when 19 years old and located at Summerville, NJ, some years thereafter coming west to Sparta in 1859, where he has ever since lived. His wife and seven children survive, John WAGNER of Minneapolis, Henry and Peter of Sparta, Mrs Josephine ANDERSON, Mrs Mary BOHRN, Eau Claire, Mrs Susan SNYDER, Rhinelander, and Mrs Sophia BLEECHER, Minneapolis. All were present at the funeral, which took place at the Catholic church yesterday forenoon. Interment in Catholic Cemetery. The Roll Call Mrs J N WAGNER Mrs J N WAGNER died last night at 1015 o'clock, at the home of her daughter, Mrs Christ ANDERSON, cancer of the stomach being the cause of death. She had been ill and confined to her be for fourteen weeks. Deceased was 87 years of age last Saturday, January 15th being her birthday. She was a native of Germany, coming to America about 1828. For some years she lived in NJ, where she was married to Mr WAGNER, they moving to Sparta in 1952 and have since made their home here. Her husband passed away three years ago. She is survived by seven children, namely: John W WAGNER, and Mrs Sop[hia BLEACHER, Minneapolis; Mrs Mary BOHRN, EauClaire; Mrs Susie SDYDER, Rhinelander; Mrs ANDEROSN, Henry and P H WAGNER of this city. Funeral services are appointed for Saturday morning at 9am at the Catholic church and interment will be made in the Catholic Cemetery.
