Obituary: Mrs John FELTON, c1928, Monroe Co., Wisconsin Original newsclipping approx 1928: Contributed by Bonnie Gilson The Warrens community was shocked by the death of Mrs John FELTON, an elderly woman of that place, which occurred Thursday morning, Jan. 12, under very sad circumstances. Mrs FELTON, whose husband died about three years ago, was living with her son Leo FELTON, on the farm just south of the village. Worry and despondency to which she was subject had evidently unbalanced her mind and sometime during the previous night she left the house without the knowledge of the family. In the morning she was missed and a search for her was started. It was not until noon that her body was found in the creek, about a half-mile from the house. It is not known whether her drowning was accidental or intentional. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday at 2 P.M., conducted by Rev JOHNSON of the Warrens church and she was buried in the Warrens cemetery beside the grave of her husband. Mrs FELTON was 68 years of age, having been born in Wisconsin on Oct 21, 1859. She was married on July 4, 1879, to John FELTON at Tunnel City, WI. They moved from there to Warrens where they lived the balance of their lives, Mr FELTON preceding his wife in death in June 1925. Three children survived them, viz; Mrs Wallace FISH of Tomah; Mrs W S HART of Kenmare, ND.; and Leo FELTON of Warrens, WI. Mrs FELTON is also survived by two brothers, R L WOODARD of Warrens and Pete WOODARD of Beliot, WI; and three sisters, Mrs Hans NELSON and Mrs H WILSON of Evansville, and Mrs William HILLIKER of Lodi, WI. ====== card of thanks ====== We wish to thank those who so kindly helped us during our bereavement; also those who sent the beautiful flowers.
