Nicolai was born a Norwalk, Wis., Oct. 17, 1902. He attended the public school and two years at high school. he was a member of the Sunday school when a child and received catacheical instruction after the completion of which he joined the church. He was united im marriage to Irene Gore of chicago, Ill., on Oct. 16, 1926. Here they lived until about a year ago when they came to Norwalk where they made their home with Mrs. Alvina Nicolai. Lester was a good worker. During these recent years when work was so scarce he was always willing to accept any kind of a job, just so he could earn something to support himself and family. He was very kind to his wife and children and his mother. He was a real pal to his children. Tuesday forenoon, Oct 3, 1933, he was electrolucted while working on a telephone line. this sudden death has shocked not only the family but the entire community. In June 18, 1920, he enlisted in the navy and served int he Seamanship department for 11/2 years and spent most of his time at the Hawaiian Islands. He served in the navy until January 13, 1922. On April 5, 1923, he was employed as surfman in the Coast Guard at Chicago. He also was employed as roofer in Chicago for ten years. He attained the age of 30 years, 11 months and 16 days. He leaves his his widow, two children, Eugene Allen three and a half years old and his sister Audrey, two years old. His mother, Mrs. Alvina Nicolai, three sisters, Clara of Baraboo, minnie of Madison and Mrs. Laura Accola of Prairie du Sac, Wis.
