The community was shocked Wednesday morning by the news of Mr. Sullivan's death, as he was in the prime of young manhood, a strong vigorous and apparently well man only a few days ago. His illness was exceedingly brief and many people did not know of it. He was injured a few weeks ago, but it was not supposed to be at all serious. On Saturday last, while he was about town he was suddenly taken with sever pain originating at the point of injury. Peritonitis quickly develped and despite all medical skill resulted in his death less than four days later. The funeral was held in the Catholic church Friday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Louis Wurst. There was an exceedingly large attendance, nothwithstanding the intense cold. Places of business in the city were closed during the obsequies. Mr. Sullivan was born in the town of Tomah, March 17, 1865, and his life has been spent in the town and city. He has been engaged in the draying business for several years. He leaves a wife and one child, a son aged 2 years.
