This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Jane Mason < masonj@u.washington.edu > November 11, 1998 ==================================================================== Death of Warren CALLIGAN Warren Calligan, an old resident and pioneer of this city, died at his home in the East ward [Oconto] Friday [12 August, 1904] evening at 730 o'clock, aged 69 years. Deceased was born in Calais, Maine, March 16, 1835, and came to this city early in the '60's. He made frequent visits east until he was married in 1864, after which he resided in this city up to the time of his death, with the exception of about three years which were spent in Hermansville, Mich.,where he was employed by the Wisconsin Land & Lumber Company. Mr. Calligan had been breaking down in health for the last five years but was only confined to the bed about four weeks before his demise. The end came very easy. He is survived by a wife and four children, two sons, Frank W. of Norway, Mich., and George H. of this city and two daughters, Misses Maude and Emma, who are at home, all of whom were present at the funeral. The services were held Monday afternoon at 230 o'clock from the house, the Rev. J. Robertson Macartney officiating, and the remains conveyed to their last resting place in Evergreen cemetery.
