Smith, 1363 N. Steven's St., died suddenly on a heart attack at 2:20 PM, Wednesday at his home. He was 54 years of age. Mr. Smith was born Oct 21 1902 in Wausaukee County. He was married to the former Wava Genett on Oct. 8, 1923, in Crystal Falls, MI. They moved to Phelps, where they spent two years, then to Tomahawk for the next five years. In 1930 they came to Rhinelander. The family moved to the town of Pine Lake, 12 years ago., but returned to the city last fall. Mr. Smith was employed by the Atlas Plywood Corp. for 21 years then worked for Pleoger Lumber Cp. At the time of his death he was employed as a logger by Oscar Schoeneck. Surviving are his wife, two sons, Dewey Edward Smith of the US Army, stations in Germany, and Dale Victor, at home; five grandchildren and one brother Wellington Loveless of Tomahawk. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Carlson Funeral Home, with Dr. W.H. Wiese officiating. The body will lie in state in the Carlson Funeral Home from 2 p.m. Friday until time of services.
