Schoening Dies Following Heart Surgery Mrs. Gordon (Amanda Emily) Schoening, 228 Johnson Street., died Wednesday of complications, following heart surgery in a Rochester, Minn., hospital. She had suffered from a heart ailment for several years Born March 2, 1916 in Underhill, Wis., she attended schools in Cecil and came to Rhinelander in 1934. The Schoenings were married in 1936 and have made their home here since that time. Mrs. Schoening was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid. Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Lois, who is stationed in Cincinnati, O., with the women’s branch of the Air Force, and Joyce, at home; her father, Fred Laedtke, Cecil; three sisters, Mrs. Adolph (Ida) Reimer, Cecil; Mrs. Frank (Hilda) Westerfeld, Pulaski; and Mrs. Fred (Dorothy) Taylor, Bonduel, and three brothers, Alfred of Milwaukee, Frederick of Tunnel City, and Robert of Cecil. Friends may call at the Carlson Funeral Home Friday after 3 p.m. and Saturday until noon. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Zion Ev. Lutheran Church and interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery. The Rev.
