F. Fuller Frederick T. Rouse. ABOUT four months after the departure of Rev. Dr. Faville, Rev. F. T. Rouse was, by unanimous vote, called to the pastorate from the Congregational church at Plantsville, Ct. Mr. Rouse accepted this call, began his work here April 30th, 1899, and was installed by council Oct. 24th, 1899. Frederick Thomas Rouse was born in Jamestown, N. Y., June 26th, 1859. He fitted for college at Williston seminary, Easthampton, Mass., entered Amherst college in 1878, and graduated in 1882. He studied theology at Hartford and New Haven. Leaving his studies, he spent a year among the Hawaiian Islands, where he succeeded his father as preacher in the American church at Makawas, on the island of Maui, and then returned to this country and, while continuing his theological course, preached two summers in Maine, one at Sanford, and the other at South Freeport. He was ordained to the ministry in 1887, and became pastor of the Pilgrim Congregational church at West Superior, Wis., which he was instrumental in organizing, serving that church five years, and in 1893, was installed pastor of the Congregational church at Plantsville, Conn., remaining there six years, until his call to this church. He married, Sept. 26th, 1888, Miss Constance Eliza Waite, of South Freeport, Me. A year and six months have passed since Mr. Rouse began work here, and in that time it is strongly in evidence that all the activities in church work will continue to go forward in the future in the same spirit as in the past. Thus far there have been added to the church roll the names of 131 members, a larger number than in the same length of time at the beginning of any previous pastorate.
