Dr. Rock of Dale. 1915 era Dr. Madson of Hortonville, who moved to Appleton and practiced there for an extended period of time. 1916 era Dr. Sexton was in Hortonville for a short time and then moved on to Clintonville. 1917 era Dr. Knapstein practiced from the Greenville area and continued until 1973. Dr. Henny practiced from New London and sold his business to Dr. C.E. Hammerberg Sr. in 1931. In this entire period and even today the eastern edge of Hortonville farming area was and is served by Veterinarians in Appleton. |At present The area is served by Heritage Animal Hospital Ltd., Hortonville which was started by Dr. Keith Breyer in 1958. From 1965 to 1968 he was assisted by Dr. Eugene Killam. In 1968 Dr. C.A. Larsen became associated with the practice. In 1970 Dr. R.W. Meads entered the practice and in 1973 Dr. R.L. Gay joined the hospital staff. Dr. Karl B. Hammerberg was in partnership with his father from 1945 to 1962 when health forced C.E.'s retirement. Dr. Karl B. Hammerberg continues practice today in the New London area. This gives the area an active force of five veterinarians with an accumulative total of over 65 years. Offering 24 hour animal care service.
