Charles D. Drummond, a bright young lad of 12 years, son of Capt. Enos F. Drummond, drowned from off his father's steamer in New London on July 22. Capt. Drummond's steamer "Wolf" was destroyed by fire sometime during September in New London. According to Mukwa's assessment records, it was valued at $3,836, but the town board authorized a $3,000 deduction, leaving a salvage value of $836. December was a very mild month until the 29th, when a snow storm emerged.
