Johnson & Co. was running a daily stage from Appleton to New London. Volume 29, page 473, Nov. 11, Waupaca County Deed Register, L.A. and Esther A. Lombard sold Lots 9-10-11 of Block 9, Millerd & Taft Plat, to Joint School District number 3 for $400. This was located across the block from where the McKinley School had stood many years later. The Methodists held their services in the United Brethern Church located at the corner of North Water and South Pearl Streets.
