High Cliff - Gus Myier and Fred Shanky began harvesting ice Monday. The Christmas Program given at the Walter Cheever School Tuesday evening, Dec. 22 was a great success. The pupils did very nicely under the careful training of their teacher Miss Romona Schmidler. A large crowd attended. The sum of $20.50 was raised and will be used for the purchasing of Victrola records. Mr. And Mrs. Frank Cordy and children and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Arndt and children spent Christmas day at the John Cordy home at Menasha. Miss Romona Schmidler is spending her vacation at her home at Hilbert. Elmer Klawiter spent Sunday evening at Hilbert. The Misses Celia and Hattie Wiechman of Koshkosh and Charles Wiechman of Kohler at Christmas dinner at their home here. Miss Sadie Klawiter and sister Mrs. J. P. Wolff and daughter Irene of Chicago, are visiting their parents here, Mr. and Mrs. William Klawiter. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Englehardt of Sherwood spent Christmas day with the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Falk. Mr. and mrs. Henry Arndt of Milwaukee and Jake Arndt of Manitowoc were guests at the home of their brother Frank on Monday. Master William Sander of Oshkosh visited at the Wiechman home Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Zickuhi and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cordy were business callers at Appleton Monday. Mrs. Cooke of Chicago is visiting with Mrs. William Klawiter this week. H. E. Upston tranacted business at Appleton Saturday. The air was filled with laughter Sunday when about one hundred people, grown- ups and childrent spent the day coasting down the Cliff Hill. The hill is in perfect condition for the great winter sport.
