He was a Cheesemaker and owned the cheese factory at Frazer Corners for many years. Garnet preceded him in death February 22, 1970. Jim was a hardworking man who spent his whole life in the Bonduel area. He was a man of great faith who loved his family; wife, kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. He married Edmere (Bonnin) Stiede November 16, 1981. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Lessor, the church choir, president of the congregation, member of church council, member of Bonduel Lions Club for 29 years, Shawano County Cheesemakers Association, and the N.E.W. Cheesemakers Association. Jim became a great golfer late in life. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Edmere; a son, Ronald J. (Rhonda) Blom, Appleton; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Reverend Arnold (Carol) Blom, Neenah; and a sister, Ann Boston, Evanston, Illinois. Cox, age 76 of Larsen, Wisconsin, died unexpectedly early Thursday morning, March 9, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center, Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He was born July 3, 1923, in Menasha, son of the late Henry and Caroline (Koch) Cox. He married Marjorie Anderson on November 22, 1943, in Waupaca, Wisconsin. They made their home in Waupaca, Medina, Zittau and since 1959 in Winchester, Wisconsin. Charles honored his Country as he served with the United States Navy during World War II. He was employed with American Can Corporation until a mill accident caused him to retire in 1964. Marge and Charles operated a Christmas Wreath business in Winchester for 40 years. They had been a major supplier of wreaths for the Boys' Brigade and for many Boy Scout Troops for their wreath sales for many years. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Zittau and the American Legion Post of Fremont. Charles enjoyed people and especially enjoyed visiting friends and having them over for chats and coffee. He was an avid wrestling fan and also one of his joys was to purchase a new car every other year. Sherman was raised in Spring Lake and was a graduate of Oshkosh West High School. He had lived in Oshkosh for many years. He was presently employed at Morgan Manufacturing in Oshkosh as a machinist. He had worked at Beloit Manhattan Co. in Neenah. Sherman enjoyed traveling on his Harley motorcycle. Hooyman "Gene" Seattle, Washington Age 55, passed away Saturday, February 26, at his cabin on the Hood Canal, Washington, after a one-year illness of cancer with his son and two sisters at his side. Gene, born October 17, 1944, the son of the late Ken and Bertha (Langenhuizen) Hooyman, attended schools in this area and went on to the U of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he received his Bachelor's, Master's and Ph.D in Public Health. In Seattle he was a consultant with the Employee Assistance Program. He was a kind and gentle man who loved nature, his log cabin and cared deeply for those close to him. His late father, a land developer on the northwest part of Appleton, through an agreement with the city, was allowed to name a street and that street became Eugene St., after his son. Gene is survived by his wife, Nancy; his children, Kevin and Mani, Seattle; his sisters, Elayne (Peter) Peterson, Appleton; Janet Lodholz, Minneapolis, Minnesota; friend and caretaker, Cathi Soriano, Seattle; nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins especially Tom Hooyman and Jack Stephani. Preceding Gene in death besides his parents was his son, Chris, who in June, 1998, while guiding a group down Mt. McKinley slid 2,000 feet to his death. Irving Kellenberger "Kelly" "Mr. Cub" Oshkosh Age 83, died on March 9, 2000 at his home. He was born on May 19, 1916 in Fond du Lac the son of Emil and Alma Juedes Kellenberger. He married Mary Kay O'Keefe on June 23, 1946 in Appleton. Mary Kay preceded him in death on May 21, 1988. He attended McKinley School in Fond du Lac, Washington School in Oshkosh and Oshkosh High School where he graduated in 1935. He attended Business College after World War II. Kelly was a meat cutter at Max Friedrich Market and Miller Market, and worked at Carver Dairy. He was a career Postal Clerk and was awarded two Superior Accomplishment Awards from the U.S. Postal Department before his retirement on June 30, 1972. After retirement he worked one year at The Western State Bank. Mr. Kellenberger served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, Co C 28th Regiment 8th Infantry Division from 1941 to 1946. He was wounded twice, once at Normandy and once at Brest France. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Two Purple Hearts, Combat Infantry Badge, American Defense Medal, America Campaign Medal, European, African and Middle Eastern Medal with three Battle Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, Germany Occupation Medal, and Normandy Medal, Four Overseas Bars, one Service Stripe and his name is inscribed on The Wall of Liberty in France. He was a member of the American Legion and the Legion Last Mans Club, V.F.W. and Life Member and past Commander of the D.A.V. He was also a member of the National Federation of Retired Federal Employees, Charter Member and Director of the Oshkosh Snitz Club for Baseball. He was inducted into the Softball Hall of Fame. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church since 1946 where he served as an usher for twenty years. Kelly played softball from 1932 to 1969 in the City Municipal League, played in the Badger State Softball League in the 1930's, played and later coached in the American Legion Baseball. He was a member of the Die Hard Cubs Fan Club, following the Cubs since 1923. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a special friend and dance partner, Viola Giebel. Surviving is one daughter, Mary Beth (Jerald) Weinjold, Cascade; two sons: Stanley C. Kellenberger, Oshkosh; and Kevin K. Norbert was born May 30, 1907, in Kaukauna, son of the late Frank and Nellie (Weyenberg) Noie. He was a 1927 graduate of Kaukauna High School where he served as class president and captain of the football team. His college years were spent at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he was selected to participate in the Alexander Meiklejohn Experimental College along with his hometown friend, James McFadden. Norbert was also a member of the University Hockey Team. On October 24, 1935, he married the former Adele Wilpolt. She preceded him in death on October 28, 1997. Norbert was most proud of his commitment to the Kaukauna High School Alumni Association. His involvement began in 1957 when he assumed the chairmanship for reservations and ticket sales for that year's Rally. A year later, he was named to the Alumni Board of Directors, and continued as an Alumni Officer for six more years. He held the top post in the Alumni organization, Chairman of the Board in 1978 and 1979, and had worked on numerous alumni affairs committees through the years. In 1976, the alumni recognized Mr. Noie's efforts by dedicating the 1976 issue of the Alumni News in his honor. In 1987, he received the prestigious Kaukauna High School Alumni Award. He had been a member of the Alumni Advisory Board since 1965. Norbert was one of the very first inductees to the Kaukauna High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Other civic-minded groups that were near and dear to him were the B.P.O.E. Lodge 962 in Kaukauna and Council 1033 of the Knights of Columbus. A longtime member of St. Mary Parish, Norbert had served as an usher there for many years. His employment at the Appleton Papers Locks Mill was of thirty-seven years duration. He worked as a manager in the personnel department and was also a representative of the company during labor negotiations. He helped found the Combined Locks Credit Union and served as its Treasurer for some thirty years. His longtime employment at the Locks Mill gained him membership in the Quarter Century Club there. She is survived by four children, Beatrice Lardinois, Neenah; Beverly Lardinois, Green Bay; Vern and Carol Fraire, California; Malinda Ermis, Montana; 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Woehler Black Creek Age 85, was called home on March 8, 2000, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Seymour. She was born January 29, 1915, in the Town of Black Creek, daughter of the late William and Mary (Mau) Holtz. Her husband, Elmer Woehler, with whom she shared 56 years united in marriage, preceded her in death on December 14, 1993. Elna resided most of her life farming in the Town of Ellington where she enjoyed her flowers and gardening. She was a member, and took an active part for many years, in the Women's Guild at St. John United Church of Christ, Black Creek. She is survived by her three daughters, Joanne (Jim) Conradt, Black Creek; Jeanette (Bernard) Kust, Clintonville; Karen (LeRoy) Arnold, Black Creek; a daughter-in-law, Jacquelyn Woehler, Wild Rose; a sister, Elsa Schwister, Black Creek; a sister-in-law, Lynda Woehler, Appleton; a sister-in-law, Frances Woehler, Appleton; a brother-in-law, Arthur Woehler, Appleton; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; a son, Vernon; a brother, Walter Holtz; and a sister, Sylvia Peters.
