Laemmrich Community Funeral Home Menasha, WI Ethel Mae Bowser 1232 Primrose Lane Neenah Age 72, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2000, at her home with her family by her side. Ethel was born April 7, 1927, in Appleton, daughter of the late Esther (Berholtz) and Daryl Hutchison. On May 18, 1946, she was united in marriage to Eugene Weeks at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Neenah. Eugene passed away May 14, 1981. On April 7, 1990, she married David Bowser at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Neenah. David passed away August 11, 1995. Ethel's happiest times were with her family. They did a lot of traveling together and have many wonderful memories. She was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Menasha. Ethel is survived by two daughters, Sandra (William) Zenke, Fremont; Pamela (Dan) Weeks, Kaukauna; a granddaughter, Jennifer (Mike) Isenhower, Fremont; a great-grandson, Noah Isenhower, Fremont; a brother, Carroll (Sylvia) Hutchison, Wild Rose; two sisters, Lois (Robert) Harrington, Neenah; Sally (Gerald) Tummett, Neenah; and a very special friend, Per Cox, Neenah; two aunts, Myrla (Ray) Dearth, Iola; Anneleise Knaack, Appleton; mother-in-law, Flora Weeks, Neenah; brother-in-law, Dewey (Gloria) Weeks, Neenah; nephews, Jeff (Tanya), Las Vegas; Brad (Chris), Neenah; Brian, Menasha; Ricky, North Carolina; Tony, North Carolina; Pat, Alabama. Wisconsin Avenue Kaukauna Age 66, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2000, at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna, following a long struggle with multiple sclerosis with his family at his side. Fritz was born August 16, 1933, in the Town of Lawrence, son of the late Joseph A. and Leona J. (Meulemans) De Bruin. He married the former Carol J. Johnson on June 25, 1960, at Holy Cross Church in Kaukauna. She preceded him in death on December 1, 1989. Fritz was a 1951 graduate of the Kaukauna High School, where he was active in forensics and debate. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated from St. Norbert College in De Pere with a Bachelor of Science degree. Fritz received his Master of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He taught German and Biology at Johnson Creek High School before coming to Kaukauna High School in 1959 where he continued to teach Biology. He retired in 1979. During his career at Kaukauna High School, he served as co- advisor to the Youth Center for many years. Fritz was a longtime and faithful member of Holy Cross Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years. He was an avid cribbage and sheepshead player, as well as being an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers. Survivors include his three loving children, Kathy De Bruin, Joe De Bruin, and John De Bruin, all of Kaukauna; two brothers, Marvin (Jean) De Bruin, Little Chute; and Floyd (Karen) De Bruin, New London; two sisters, Bee (Benny) Hahn, Neenah; and Eileen (James) Johnson, Kaukauna. Fritz is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol; a sister, Carol (Douglas) Vandenberg; by Carol's step-parents, Joseph (Mayme) Le Fevre; and Carol's special aunt, Cecil Whalen. The funeral liturgy will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2000, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna, with Fr. Jack Mullarkey officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home and again Thursday at the church from 9:30 until the hour of the liturgy. There will be a parish prayer and scripture service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials in Fritz's name be directed to the Wisconsin Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, or to the Francis De Bruin Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of the family. She was born on August 3, 1905, in the Town of Waupaca, daughter of the late Andrew P. and Minnie (Christensen) Anderson. She married Mark C. Doughty on September 12, 1923, in Ogdensburg. He preceded her in death on March 18, 1932. She worked at a little restaurant in the "burg" and later worked at various hospitals as an LPN, retiring from the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King. She is survived by two daughters, Marcella Lietzke, Shawano; Patricia Hansen, Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin; a son, Evan (Marlene) Doughty, New Berlin, Wisconsin; 24 grandchildren and over 40 great-grandchildren; a sister, Carla "Jesse" (Elmer) Oppor, Iola; a brother, Andrew (Jeanette) Anderson, Clintonville; a son-in-law, Mayford Schultz, Manawa. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Schultz; a son, Russell Doughty; four brothers, Richard, Orvey, Vernie and Kermit Anderson; three sisters, Ella Jensen, Emily Taylor and Gladys Johnson; and two sons-in-law, Larry Lietzke and Robert Hansen. She was born on August 28, 1904, in Seymour, the daughter of the late Rudolph and Louise (Mueller) Zibell. On October 14, 1944, she married Emery Rusch and he passed away in 1945. She was employed by Gunderson Bakery, at Lawrence University, and also did some baby-sitting. She is survived by a daughter, Gloria (Larry) Fehrman, Appleton; a son-in-law, Marlin Zick, Appleton; brother, Raymond Zibell, Seymour; and three grandchildren, Shelly (Eric) Hansen, Appleton; Brian (Kathryn) Fehrman, Wauwatosa; and Jeremy (Nicole) Fehrman, Appleton. She was preceded in death besides her husband by a step daughter, Kathleen Zick; a sister, Alma Zibell; and a brother, Richard Zibell. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, Ella enjoyed teaching people about how Jehovah will cleanse the earth and make it a beautiful paradise where sickness, death, and sorrow will be gone forever. She held on to the hope of being resurrected back to this paradise earth as Psalm 37:29 promises: "The righteous themselves will possess the earth and they will reside forever upon it." Don was born October 6, 1932, in the Township of Larrabee to the late Gustave and Gertrude (Fritz) Sell. He lived all of his life in the Township of Larrabee surrounding his home farm. On October 20, 1956, he was united in marriage to Virginia Breed in the Township of Herman, Shawano County. Don worked in farming for many years and had operated his auto and truck salvage yard near Marion for many years as well. He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, Marion. Don loved fishing and old cars. She was born on June 15, 1907, in Hilbert, daughter of the late John L. and Anna (Flesch) Gau. She married Joseph P. Zachek on September 11, 1934, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hilbert; he preceded her in death on May 10, 1972. She was the bookkeeper for Zachek Construction Company in Hilbert for many years. Valeria was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Hilbert. Survivors include a son, Howard Zachek, Menasha; four grandchildren, John (Theresa) Zachek, Donald (Jane) Zachek, Robert Zachek and fiancee Jennifer Jones, Lynn (Todd) Krueger; three great-grandchildren, Nicole, Kristin, Brittney; two step-great-grandchildren: Holly and Megan.
