Arenz Appleton Formerly of Rockford, Illinois, age 79, died on Wednesday, March 29, 2000 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born on June 24, 1920 to the late Fred and Mable (Wickman) Arenz. On March 9, 1943 he married Ruth Shepherd. Don was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; children: Don (Mary Ann) Arenz Jr., Neenah; Gail (Jay) Caress, Manchester, Massachusetts; grandchildren: Rebecca (Steve) Bamberger, Christopher, Wendie Arenz, Melissa, Dan Heckman, Adam, Joshua, Jordan and Alexander Caress. He was the youngest of eight children and is survived by two sisters: Ethel Youngblood, Arden Hills, Minnesota; Evelyn (Arne) Evensen, Wheaton, Illinois; sisters-in-law: Ethel Arenz, Mt. Prospect, Illinois; Willa Shepherd, Appleton; Betty Shepherd, Chicago; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The Funeral Service will be on Saturday, April 1, 2000 at 11:30 a.m. at Community Church, 3701 N. Gillett St., Appleton, with Reverend Brian Smith officiating. Beck 721 Second St., Menasha Age 95, died Thursday, March 30, 2000 at Theda Clark Medical Center following a short illness. He was born June 15, 1904 in Menasha, son of Charles and Jennie (Lawton) Beck. Wilfred married Lucy Foxgrover on June 15, 1935 in Waukegan, Illinois. He was employed at Menasha Lumber and Fuel Company for many years before becoming associated with the Bank of Menasha where he was employed for 18 years before his retirement in 1969. He was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ, Neenah. He is survived by his wife, Lucy; two sons and daughters-in-law: Thomas W. (Joanne) Beck, Winona, Minnesota; Richard A. (JoAnn) Beck, Burr Ridge, Illinois; a daughter, Lynda Nazier, Menasha; eight grandchildren: Steven, Brian and Jodene Beck, Stephanie and Lorrie Beck, Mark, Ryan and Becky Hilson; a brother and sister-in-law: James (Lucille) Beck, Texas; several nieces and nephews including Carl (Viola) Beck, Jr., Menasha; two very special friends: Bruce Heisel and Cheryl and his many friends at the Hungry Bull. She was united in marriage to Arthur Deltour in 1950. Catherine was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She is survived by two sons: Andrew (Sherry) Deltour, Readfield; and Thomas (Shelly) Deltour, Shawano; a daughter: Christine Deltour, Kaukauna; a very special niece: Susan Steinfeldt, Neenah; grandchildren: Stacy, Sarah, Abbie, Beau, and Kim; great grandchildren: Brandon, Mykala, Isabella and other relatives and friends. Chuck was born on February 10, 1908 in Appleton, to the late William and Frances (Herman) De Young. He served his country in the United States Coast Guard and was employed at InterLake Paper Company until his retirement in 1973. Carl enjoyed fishing, gardening, and traveling. Survivors include his nephew, Gary De Young, Menasha; his niece, Shirley (John) Hayde, Overland Park, Kansas; his niece, Barbara De Young, Appleton; his niece, Sandy (Julian) De Young, Darboy; and great-niece, Traci De Young (special friend, Jeff), Florida; his great-nephew, Scott (Carol) De Young, Madison; many cousins and other relatives. Lyness Menasha Age 71, died Wednesday afternoon, March 29, 2000 at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center. She was born on December 22, 1928 in Appleton, the daughter of Alphius and Josephine Smith. She married Marvin Lyness on November 16, 1946 in Oshkosh and he preceded her in death on September 8, 1992. Ramona was employed by the State of Wisconsin at Winnebago Mental Health Institute as a nurse's aide for over 30 years prior to her retirement. Survivors include a granddaughter, Kelly; seven brothers and sisters-in-law: Harold (Betty) Lyness, Oshkosh; Gordon (Lola) Lyness, California; Gilbert Lyness, Van Dyne; Burr (Ruth) Marchant, Rosendale; Ruby Anklam, Ripon; Ruby Lyness, Oshkosh; Elda Bradley, Pickett; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
