Obituaries from The Post Crescent, Appleton Wisconsin Tuesday 11 April 2000 Mrs. David (Dolores) Andrews 609 W. 8th Street, Kaukauna Age 73, died Monday, April 10, 2000, at Colony Oaks Care Center, Appleton. She was born May 13, 1926, in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Peter G. and Helen (Scholbe) Melchiors. Dolores was a graduate of Central High School in Sheboygan. On October 2, 1945, she married David C. Andrews in San Francisco, California. Dolores worked for many years at the Kaukauna Hospital as a nurse aide and later as a pharmacy aide, until her health forced her retirement in 1987. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna. Survivors include her husband, David, Kaukauna; three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael (Miriam) Andrews and their son, Mark Andrews, Summit, New Jersey; Randall (Dee) Andrews, and their children, Brent (Tami) Andrews and Amy Andrews, Appleton; Mark (Jean) Andrews, Kaukauna. She is further survived by a great- granddaughter and a step great-granddaughter, three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Bernice (Harold) Wenzel, Wausau; Mernie (Harold) Roloff, Kaukauna; Shirley Leonard, Milwaukee; numerous nieces and nephews. Dolores was preceded in death by a son, Donald, in 1976, and a brother-in-law, James Leonard. In accordance with Dolores' wishes, there will be no visitation and private family services will be held. Travis Copeland 615 W. 5th Street, Appleton Age 58, died unexpectedly Saturday evening, April 8, 2000. He was born September 25, 1941, to the late Charles B. and Anna (Johnson) Copeland in Amarillo, Texas, and had been an Appleton resident since 1987. Prior to this, he had resided in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for 22 years. Travis had been employed by Appleton Papers as a Senior Research Scientist. He was an avid salmon and trout fisherman and a rock and gem collector. Survivors include his wife, Irena L. (Lindberg) Copeland, to whom he had been married for 36 years; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Burton and Deborah Copeland, Middleton, Wisconsin; Kyle Copeland, Norman, Oklahoma; Joseph and Monika Copeland, Neenah; grandson, Adrik Copeland; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Rita and Robert Meadors, Conroe, Texas; Charlotte Crosbie, Stillwater, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Copeland and Darrell Copeland, and a brother-in-law, Kirby Crosbie. Dart Appleton Age 65, died Monday, April 10, 2000, and joined Elmer, Esther, Henry, Josie, Al and Little Joey at the Pearly Gates. He was born May 19, 1934, to Elmer and Esther (Corroy) Dart. On September 7, 1957, he married Elaine Heraly. He passed away with her at his side. Ervin worked at Banta in Menasha and Leyse Aluminum in Kewaunee before purchasing the Forester Banquet Hall business in April of 1983. He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and for 52 years, a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. Ervin is survived by his wife, Elaine; four sons, Jeff (Ann), Milwaukee; Randy (Rene), Dale; Scott and Mike, both of Menasha; a daughter, Jolene Dart, Milwaukee; a brother, Leon Dart, Algoma; two sisters, Sharon (Les) Tebon, Algoma; and Susie (Byron Christenson) Dart, Florence; eight grandchildren, Brandon, Morgan, Amberly, Erica, Shauna, Austin, Josh, and Micala; in-laws, LeRoy (Jane) Heraly, Roy (Jo Ann) Heraly, Loyd (Rita) Heraly, Carl (Mary Ann) Heraly, Hank Jr. (Doris) Heraly, and Rita Heraly. He is further survived by an extended family, Jenny, Dan, Josh, Jenna Lee, Justin, and Danielle Fameree, and many other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church of Appleton with Father Gerald Falk officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at the Valley Funeral Home and again on Wednesday from 10 until the time of service at the church. Davidson, of Belleville, Wisconsin, died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. JoAnne was born September 27, 1930, in Waupaca, Wisconsin, to George and Bernice (Kruenen) Friberg. She graduated from Waupaca High School with the Class of 1948. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1952 with a degree in Social Work. JoAnne married Daryl F. Davidson on January 16, 1953, in Waupaca. They built their home in Belleville in 1966. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Madison. She is survived by her husband, Daryl; her daughter, Ann (Mark) Braue, Eau Claire; her sister, Isla Mae (Don) Taylor, Appleton. JoAnne was preceded in death by her parents. Johnson 25 N. 12th Street, Clintonville Age 91, died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at the Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center, Clintonville. Ron was born on July 22, 1908, in Stanley, Wisconsin, the son of the late Arthur and Hattie (Bjornson) Johnson. Ron later became employed and managed milk plants for the Bowman Dairy in Baldwin and Coon Valley, Wisconsin. On July 25, 1936, he became united in marriage to Ruth Johnson in Stanley. The couple later moved to State Center, Iowa, where Ron had been transferred to manage a creamery. In 1968, the couple moved back to Stanley where Ron was employed at a local hardware store. Ruth preceded her husband in death on December 9, 1977. Ron continued to live in Stanley until 1979 when he moved to Eau Claire. In 1987 he moved to Clintonville and was employed at the Tiny Trucker Day Care Center until 1994. Survivors include two daughters, Lynn Dunn, Largo, Florida; Carol Baldwin and friend Tom Huebner, Manawa; four grandchildren, Kevin (Cindy) Samuelson, Middleton; Keith Samuelson and friend Cari Carmody, Manawa; Jennifer Dunn, Tallahassee, Florida; Stacey Baldwin, Manawa; two great-grandchildren, Anastasia and Samantha Samuelson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Ruth. Kelly Keller Neenah, Wisconsin Age 31, formerly of Fort Atkinson, passed away April 7, 2000, at her home. She was born November 5, 1968, in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, daughter of Michael and Gladys (Tyler) Keller. Sankey 210 Haylett Street, Neenah Age 82, died Saturday, April 8, 2000, in Appleton after a long battle with osteoporosis. She was born January 6, 1918, in Custer, Wisconsin, daughter of Alois and Helen (Slagowski) Haka. She married Lambert Sankey in 1942 at Stevens Point and he preceded her in death in April, 1970. Mrs. Sankey was a member and past president of the Neenah Ladies V.F.W. Auxiliary, Post 10893. She was also a member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church, Menasha. Mrs. Sankey is survived by a sister, Cornelia "Corky" (Donald) Klish, Stevens Point; two brothers, Frank Haka, Stevens Point; Stanley (Joyce) Haka, Utica, New York; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Jeanette Hayson, Mary Helen Firkus and Barbara Lesinski; two brothers, Raymond and Alois Jr. Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at Saint Patrick Church, Menasha, with the Reverend Roy Geenen officiating.
