Obituaries from The Post Crescent, Appleton Wisconsin Friday 21 April 2000 Dr. Leta "Lee" Di Salvo Oshkosh Age 76, died at Mercy Medical Center on Wednesday, April 19, 2000. She was born in Kaukauna on September 4, 1923, a daughter of Clarence and Laura Kobussen Perry. Lee had been a professor of English at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh for 18 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Lawrence University, Masters of Arts degree from the University of Colorado at Denver; and her Doctorate from Syracuse University. Lee enjoyed reading and writing poetry. She wrote and published a book of poetry titled "On Target". Lee had a deep love of animals. Survivors include a brother, Cal Perry, Melbourne Beach, Florida; nephews: Dick Perry, Vero Beach, Florida; Chris (Angie) Perry, Melbourne Beach, Florida; nieces: Janet (Terry Garbe) Perry, Appleton; Jo (Richard) Gear, Appleton; Lisa (John) Pappas, Jacksonville, Florida; Mary Kay (Mike) Everts, Palm Bay, Florida. Funeral services were Friday, April 21, 2000 at 10 a.m. at Lake View Memorial Park, with Father Martin P. Carr officiating. Interment followed the service. Tony Paalman Land O' Lakes Age 77, formerly of Appleton, died peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, April 19, 2000 at his home. He was born December 6, 1922 in Little Chute. Tony served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Appleton Papers after 35 years of service. Tony is survived by his wife, Norine C. Chuck was born on July 26, 1975 in Appleton, beloved son of Frank (Donna) Potter and Jane (James) Meulemans. Chuck was a devoted friend to the loving, close-knit bunch fondly known as "The Boys." Chuck shared his father's great love of people and also his love of animals. He truly lived life to the fullest. He was born on July 27, 1933 in the Town of Stockbridge, son of the late Arthur and Lillian (Hurley) Schomisch. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany. James worked for Tecumseh Products in New Holstein for 32 years until his retirement in 1997. He also farmed in the towns of Chilton and Woodville. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church in St. John. Survivors include a brother, Arthur (Darlene) Schomisch, Appleton; a sister, Mary (Marvin) Lefeber, Hilbert; nieces and nephews. Stoddard "Tootie" Appleton Formerly of Green Bay, age 76, died Wednesday, April 19, 2000 at the Appleton Medical Center. She was born in Nahma, Michigan on October 13, 1923 to the late Homer A. and Elsie (La Cost) Mercier. On July 6, 1944 she married Jack Stoddard. Frances loved to travel, especially her trips to Las Vegas, she loved to read, listen to music, talk on the phone and watch soap operas. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Jack; children: Patricia (special friend, Fred White) Stoddard, Terry Stoddard, both of Appleton; Kathleen Steffens, Green Bay; Jill (Paul) Stoeger, Darboy; Jean (Donavan) Lane, Waupaca; Joan (Special friend, John Hemes) Stoddard, Neenah; Sean Stoddard, Appleton; grandchildren: Doug Giffin, Ragnar "Jason" Stoddard, Angela Steffens, Cody and Travis Stoeger, Ben and Sam Lane; a sister, Jacque Mercier, Racine; a family friend, Lynn A. Timm Town of Ellington Age 69, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2000 at Appleton Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born on February 4, 1931 in Town of Ellington, the son of the late Louis and Alma (Court) Timm. On December 3, 1964 he married Eva Rushkofske in Oshkosh. He served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed farming in the Town of Ellington on the family farm all of his life. He was a life long member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellington. He is survived by his wife Eva, his children and grandchildren: Julie (Don Jr.) Kuettel, Dustin and Dean and step grandchildren, Amanda, Vanessa and Donnie III of Hortonville; Mark (Lynn) Timm, Shiocton; Kari Timm, Hortonville; three brothers; Victor (Ramona) Timm, Appleton; Carl (Rose) Timm, Hortonville; Don (Arlene) Timm, Hortonville; two sisters: Eleanor Rahmlow, Appleton; and Bernice Knutzen, Black Creek; several nieces and nephews and a special family friend of the family, Kelvin Kimball. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Wilbert Rahmlow and Harold Knutzen. Interment will take place in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery.
