She was born March 21, 1908, in the Town of Maple Valley, to the late Hans and Anna (Hansen) Andersen. On November 10, 1928, Clara married Adolph G. Block at St. John Lutheran Church, Pulcifer. He preceded her in death November 18, 1999. She was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Gillett, and the WELCA. Clara is survived by her four sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Joyous, Kimberly; Richard and Eva, Gillett; Elroy and Joan, Bonduel; Roger and Beverly, Milwaukee; 17 grandchildren, 32 great- grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a sister-in-law, Gladys Johnsen, Gillett; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Patrick L. Burns 7827 Tropicana Drive Port Richey, Florida (formerly of Combined Locks) Age 81, died on Monday, April 24, 2000, at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center. He was born on March 24, 1919, in Green Bay, the son of the late Patrick and Frances (Turner) Burns. Patrick served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. On August 24, 1941, he married Helen E. Steinhoff at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna. Patrick worked for Wisconsin Bell Telephone Co. He was a member of the Little Chute Jacob Coppus Post 258 American Legion, a life member of the Knights of Columbus, the Pioneers Club and the Appleton Chapter of the Retiree's Club. Patrick is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen Burns; a son, Dennis (Anne) Burns, Fairfax, Virginia; two daughters, Margaret "Peg" (Purl) Dietzman, Kohler; Mary (Bob) Greenewald, Sheboygan; six grandchildren, Nicholas and Sarah Burns; Stacey Dietzman and Karin (Mike) Buckholdt; Shawn (Jim) Strook and Teresa (Jeff) Jagodinski; two great-granddaughters, Samantha Strook and Taylor Jagodinski. Demerath Menasha Age 84, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2000, at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. He was born February 1, 1916, in Berlin, Wisconsin, son of the late Joseph and Anna Mary (Lammel) Demerath. Donald was a graduate of Berlin High School Class of 1934, and also a graduate of UW- Whitewater Class of 1939. He was a United States Air Force Veteran serving in World War II. On May 15, 1954, Donald married Helen Pakalski at St. John Catholic Church, Menasha; she survives him. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Menasha, and sang in the adult choir and the funeral choir. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Nicolet Council 1838. Donald loved music, singing and traveling and was an active volunteer at the Senior Center. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by two daughters, Julie Demerath-Brei, Eau Claire; Betty (Tom) Kuepper, Menasha. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Lucie, Nikkolaus, and Katerie Brei, Shawano; Delora, Geoffrey and Josef Brei, Eau Claire; Ben, Jon and David Gillis and Sam Kuepper, all of Menasha. She was born February 28, 1898, in the Town of Rockland, daughter of the late Albert and Amelia (Pingel) Fischer. She married Albert Enneper on March 12, 1919, at Rantoul. Clara worked at Laacks Cheese Factory in Potter for many years. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Brillion, the United Methodist Women, Martha Circle, she sang in the choir for many years, and was a member of the Calumet Homemakers. Survivors include a daughter, Leona Krueger, Manitowoc; a son and daughter-in-law, Arnold and Mary Ann Enneper, Kiel; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and a brother, Milton Fischer, Brillion. Clara was preceded in death by her husband on March 28, 1974; a daughter, Alice Piepenburg; a grandson, Dennis Piepenburg; and four brothers. Broadway Dr., Appleton Age 20, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 23, 2000, due to an automobile accident. He was born July 26, 1979, in Neenah, son of Steve and Kathy Kern. Nick was a 1997 graduate of Freedom High School. Nick was a free spirit who loved life to the fullest. His goal was to be successful in life and do that by enjoying it to the fullest. His friends meant everything to him. He loved to fish. Hacking and Frisbie Golf were some of his favorite passions. John was born on September 21, 1949, to the late Roland "Bud" and Mildred (Karweick) Kuehnl. He married Maggie Kilroy on February 13, 1993, in Appleton. John served his country in the United States Army, which included a tour in Vietnam. He joined the Appleton Fire Department on July 9, 1973, and after 26 years of dedicated service, retired on September 25, 1999, as a Driver/Engineer. John will be greatly missed by his wife, Maggie; daughters, Shelley and her fiance Ron Tabbert, Oshkosh; Kimberly and her special friend, Steve Novy, Appleton; stepchildren, Matt Shanley, Chilton; Colleen Shanley, Kiel; and Rachel Reinke, at home; his granddaughter, Skylar, and four step-grandchildren. She was born July 30, 1928, in Menasha, daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary (Dobrinski) Lingnofske. Leola was employed at American Can Corporation for 40 years until she retired. After retirement she did various volunteer work. Leola was also a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Menasha. You will always be remembered. Harold L. Volkman N9588 Grandy Road, Shiocton Age 99, entered eternal life on Easter Sunday morning, April 23, 2000, very peacefully at home with his family. He was born July 15, 1900, into a family of 12. On June 26, 1929, Harold married Mildred Dryden, and they farmed at Black Creek until he was 54 years old. Harold then was employed at Tuttle Press until he retired at the age of 65. Over the years Harold and Mildred enjoyed traveling many places. Together they built a cottage at Shawano Lake and shared many good memories with the grandchildren. His specialty was working with wood, which he passed on to the grandchildren; left or right handed. The last few years were spent in a mobile home, close to their daughter and family on Grandy Road. On June 26, 1999, Harold and Mildred celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Survivors include his wife, Mildred; his daughter and son-in-law, Lois (LeRoy) Hartlaben; 11 grandchildren, Gary, Pete and Sharel, Randy, Bette and Harold Shepard, Ron, Barb and Randy Schmidt, Steve and Shelia, Karen and Pat Van Lannen, Chris and Rick Stedl, Kathy and her fiance, Mike Paltzer. Harold is further survived by 18 great-grandchildren and a sister, Laura Henning. Harold was preceded in death by his grandson.
