Smith, a resident of this city more than a quarter century ago, died Dec. 29, at Banner Ferry, Idaho, according to word received by his wife, who was visiting friends in this city. Memorial services will be conducted at the Congregational church at 5:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon by the Rev. H. E. Peabody and later the body will be brought here for interment at Riverside cemetery. The decendent will be remembered by older Appleton as a clerk in the N. B. Clark store in the early '80's. For 12 years he was manager of the Henry Sherry Lumber company's mill at Sherry, Wis. In 1905 this family moved to Polatch, Idaho. Mr. Smith was married in 1884 to Miss E. Tarner of Appleton, who with two daughters, Jessie of Spokane, Wash., and Kathryn of Boston, survive.
