George W. Gerry's Death

Appleton Loses One of Her Most Prominent Citiznes Yesterday
Morning.

Appleton, Wis., June 2- The death of G.W. Gerry, which
resulted from cancer, yesterday morning about seven o'clock,
removes a prominent citizen of Appleton from the walks of
the living.  Mr. Gerry was born at Andover, New Brunswick,
in 1841.  He came to this city about twenty-two years ago
and during his earlier residence was associated in business
with the Whortons.  Of late years he head been engaged in
the lumber business and was interested largely with Henry
Sherry of Neenah.  It is estimated that Mr. Gerry's estate
is worth $150,000.  The funeral occurs tomorrow afternoon.
