W. Mitchell at the Union church, Hortonville. Mr. Steffin was a son of Francis and Isabelle Steffin. His father was a soldier of the civil war and died about the time the war closed, the G.A.R. post of Hortonville is named in honor of his memory. The subject of this notice was a young man of many excellent quailities of heart and mind, and his early demise id deeply deplored by a large circle of intimate friends. He was nearly 24 years of age, and died of that dread disease- consumption. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. and his brethren attended the funeral in a body, conducting the exercises at the grave. Mrs. Steffin, his mother, and the brothers and sisters feel most keenly the bereavement they are called to suffer, and have the sympathy of all.
